A: The difference between Display port and HDMI port are majorly on the physical port shape and the functionality. You can tell by seeing the port with the physical port, but the DP port usually supports a wider range of bandwidth which will allow it to support a higher resolution such as 4K resolution @60Hz while HDMI 1.4 version support at 4k @30Hz. That'd be said, you will see more DP ports on Higher resolution displays than HDMI. But HDMI is much popular port than DP.
